Abstract
This paper offers a previously unpublished instrument useful in carrying out the preliminary assessment of internal control activities and objectives for the expenditures process of homebuilding firms.Different versions of an instrument of this type are employed by Certified Public Accounting firms during their independent audits of their homebuilding clients. The authors discuss the instrument’s possible usefulness to independent auditors and executives of homebuilding firms. Also discussed is the instrument’s position within the extant internal control literature.
