In this manuscript, Dr. Ruth Caillouet and I discuss ways Young Adult Literature can be used to ignite students' love of reading. My section of the article focuses on adolescent nonfiction and the ways it can not only serve to meet the Common Core State Standards' mandate for increased reading of informational texts in schools but it can also increase students' engagement in and love for reading.
